Boone Stutz, we hardly knew ye

Just got word that long snapper Boone Stutz has been waived after an unsuccessful, albeit brief stint with the team. To be blunt, he has been simply terrible, and I guess the botched snap on the extra point following Trufant’s TD was the last straw. Though I have yet to see it confirmed, the move was apparently reported on radio 950 KJR.

Hopefully this will help sort out some of the ungodly awful special teams play we’ve been seeing the last few weeks… The re-signing of Josh Scobey should also help alleviate the losses of Alvin Pearman and C.J. Wallace, but it didn’t appear to help much this week…

UPDATE – 6:56 PM EST

Clare Farnsworth puts the kibosh on this story. The Seahawks are merely trying out some long snappers in addition to other position players. Holmgren calls this “normal protocol.”

‘Tis a shame… I was getting comfortable with the idea of having a long snapper who can actually snap…
